Re:     2022 Restart - 1/5/22

Happy New Year, Everyone!

We’ve done well as a team during the first half of this season. Our swimmers have performed well and improved throughout the competitions. Some, making their way onto the charts with “B” times, others collecting “A” and “AA” times. Many (listed below) have posted qualifying times for the “AAA” Hawaiian State Championships, to be held February 24-27, 2022, at the Pahoa Aquatics Facility.  At this time, there are no plans by Hawaiian Swimming to host the normal AA (Jr.) Championship, so the AAA championship will end the short course season this year.

*COVID TESTING REQUIRED

  • As we begin the new year, we will need to add a layer of risk mitigation prior to ASC swimmers coming on to campus, which begins on Wednesday, Jan 5, 2022.

  • We will follow HPA’s requirements of all students (K-12), which is:

“Beginning Wednesday, January 5, students, faculty, and staff will not be allowed to return to campus for in-person instruction or participation in athletics or other co-curricular activities without proof of a negative COVID-19 test result.” The test must be taken no sooner than Monday, Jan 3, 2022.

Other schools, locally, like HPA,  are also requiring tests as well and we will accept a copy of those negative tests. Get a scanned or hard copy of the results.

How to submit your negative test results?

  • HPA students, do not need to. I will cross-reference swimmer names with our student roster.

  • Non-HPA families can voluntarily email [email protected], or send a copy in a sealed envelope with your swimmer to practice.

WHEN DO WE RETURN TO PRACTICE?

  • BRONZE - Wed, Jan 5, 4:40-5:20

  • SILVER - WED, Jan 5, 2021, 5:30pm

  • SR - Began on 12/27.

WHEN IS THE NEXT COMPETITION?

  • TBD - We are hopeful that there will be a chance to have one more competition for swimmers to advance, either at the Pahoa Pool or the HPA POOL.

  • AAA Hawaiian Swimming State Championships, Feb 24-27, 2022 at Pahoa.

  • Here are our “AAA” State Qualifiers so far as of, December 18, 2021.

WHEN DOES THIS SEASON (25 YARD POOL COMPETITIONS) END?

The season ends, typically at the conclusion of the championship meets for that season. With the AAA meet being on February 24-27, groups will conclude at the following times, exceptions will be any swimmer who qualifies for North West Age-Group Zones (Seattle) or Senior Sectionals (Arizona, March).

  • BRONZE - February 10, 2022 (as originally scheduled)

  • SILVER - February 28, 2022 (adjusted due to BIIF/HPA sports schedule)

  • GOLD - February 28, 2022 (adjusted due to BIIF/HPA sports schedule)

  • SR - February 28, 2022 (adjusted due to BIIF/HPA sports schedule)

  •

WHEN DOES THE NEXT SEASON (50M POOL COMPETITIONS) BEGIN?

We will be sending out an enrollment link for the next season, which may begin around spring break. Traditionally, a couple of weeks off is taken to rejuvenate following the championships, but during this COVID Era, things are a little out of wack. So, we will begin as soon as possible, and with a practice schedule that is best, that can be provided. The season will offer competitions at the 50m pool length and culminate with a AAA and hopefully a AA championship in the months of June or early July, and the ability to travel to the mainland for qualifiers of Age-Group Zones or Senior Sectionals.
